The ONLY thing I know for certain is that I am a Fool

The truth will set you free, but first it might piss you off… Life involves Pain*

But there is no need to Suffer*… changing one’s relationship to pain CAN eliminate suffering from life

Suffering* comes from desire, and the worst suffering comes from unobtainable desires, such as the desire for a life with NO pain.

A man ought to have a creed, a code, a way of life to live by… find a perennial philosophy to suit your fancy, and you will learn to overcome desire.

Pride isn’t the cure for shame, but a symptom of it…

No one can tell you you’re a fool, and if they do, you won’t believe them… It is simply a glorious realization one must have for themselves, and once they do, they’ll wear title like armor

Some fools are unable to come to conclusions… Wisemen are all too ready to come to conclusions… But a few fools have learned better than to come to conclusion

This is why ONLY fools can learn… I used to be a wiseman like most, still convinced I KNEW how the world worked… and no one could teach me ANYTHING

Fools have an impenetrable defense… but it is NOT their title that makes them invincible… ANYONE who places too much importance on external labels is a Fool anyway… The Fool is invincible because they have Nothing to defend

…Humility is the ONLY way to become immune to humiliation lol

Delusion is the human Superpower …

The universe, or god, or whatever, is simply TOO vast to know, and TOO big to live in as IT is... ... we can go out and explore and wonder about IT during the daytime, but each of us MUST construct a much smaller bubble of comfortable delusion in which to go to sleep at night called “Home”

Life is better when you’ve got a story to tell yourself, life is more consistent when the story is true, and in times of stress it pays to keep the story simple and easy to remember.

My story:

“IT is Eternally Here and Now, I Am Me, and IT will ALWAYS be bigger than Me”

“EVERYONE is Me speaking out of a different Ego…  including You and I”

The Fool’s Ethics:

Safety 3rd

1: Get stuff done, and do GOOD work

(golden rule)

2: Get enough credit to enable MORE good work in the future

(Capitalism, so long as not conflicting with 1)

3: Survive long enough to DO the good work

(safety, so long as doesn’t conflict with 1&2)

Greedy people place #2 first… Cowardly and lazy people place #3 first… and martyrs focus on ONLY #1 and so don’t ACTUALLY get anything done.

H2G2 8:53 “Space,” it says, “is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly hugely mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the street to the chemist, but that’s just peanuts to space. Listen…” and so on…

REU 11:198 “If life is going to exist in a Universe of this size, then the one thing it cannot afford to have is a sense of proportion.”

REU 28:283 “You’re very sure of your facts, I couldn’t trust the thinking of a man who takes the Universe—if there is one—for granted.”
